Ethics and Professional Practice for Coaches
This online advanced course strengthens your ethical awareness and professional confidence as a coach.
As a coach, you are expected to take responsibility for the framework of the relationship—legally, ethically, and practically. This course provides an overview of relevant legislation, ethical guidelines, and professional standards, and helps you develop clear agreements, practice descriptions, and reflections on your own role.
The course consists of 8 digital modules combining teaching, reflection, and self-study. You will gain insights into power dynamics, confidentiality, diversity, boundaries, and stakeholders—and develop your own ethical practice.
The course concludes with a mandatory assignment where you create your coaching contract and privacy statement, as well as formulate a personal commitment to professional integrity.

Module 2: Privacy and Data Processing
GDPR, documentation, and how to safeguard confidentiality in practice.
Module 3: Ethics in Practice
Core values, fairness, clear communication of competence, and trust.
Module 4: Boundaries and Power Balance
Power, vulnerability, and professional boundaries—including prohibition of relationships.
Module 5: Diversity and Non-Discrimination
Awareness of bias, language, and inclusive coaching practices.
Module 6: Stakeholders in Coaching
Sponsor, client, and organization—responsibilities and ethical considerations in triadic relationships.
Module 7: Professional Practice and Contracts
Coaching agreements, frameworks, commercial boundaries, and service descriptions.
Module 8: Ethical Integrity and Professional Limitations
Referral, reporting, and formulating a personal ethical commitment.
Final Assignment:
- Drafting a coaching contract and privacy statement
